Organisation Structure
For a while in the 1990s, Thailand looked poised to become the first team from South East Asia to break into the continent's elite after a string of encouraging results at club and international level.

The World Cup though, has provided the kingdom little joy - they have yet to make it past the preliminary rounds in seven attempts since 1974.

Thai football turned professional in 1995 and currently has more than 216,000 players registered to 168 clubs. BEC Tero Sasana became the second Thai club since the Thai Farmers Bank in to reach an Asian level club tournament.

Thai Farmers Bank remains the only club from South East Asia to win an Asian level tournament back in 1993 and 1994, a feat that no other country in that region has even come close to.
