Quiet and unassuming, Mohamed bin Hammam is a man who lives by the maxim that actions speak louder than words.
As his CV clearly shows, he is indeed a man of action who has helped to lay the foundation for the growth of football in Qatar by emphasizing on the development of the game at different age levels. His visionary efforts has led to Qatar consistently claiming the honours in Asian football and also qualifying for FIFA's under-17 and under-20 tournaments.
Mohamed bin Hammam has pledged to ensure that all AFC member associations will be given every opportunity to progress. He has also pledged to build strong bonds of friendship and unity within the Asian football family under his leadership.
His qualities of leadership have now propelled him to the highest position within Asian football. "It is my desire to see Asian football excel on the international stage. Despite the size of the Continent and the difficulty we have in developing football, Asia has made much headway over the past decade. I believe that it will not take us very long to make an even bigger impact on world football," he says.
