Kuala Lumpur: It's double delight for AFC Project Future Batch 2010 Coaches Chan Yuen Ting and Ng Wing Kum from Hong Kong who were chosen to participate in two football conferences back-to-back in Kuala Lumpur.
The coaches in training attended the FIFA/AFC Conference on the Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 on 6-8 December 2011 and the AFC Asian Cup 2011 Conference on 30 November-2 December 2011, just in the week before.
Both young coaches are glad for the new knowledge gained from the best in the world’s and Asian women’s football and have vowed to share it with their colleagues and implement them for their charges back home.
“It’s first-class knowledge and experience we are getting from both conferences and I definitely will share them with my friends in coaching and use them to improve my players,” said Chan, an U-19 coach for TSW Pegasus FC.
“It’s a great learning opportunity from FIFA and AFC which I would like to thank. The sessions on the Japan, USA, Germany and Australian women’s teams are an eye opener for me.”
An U-10 coach for the Arsenal Soccer School in Hong Kong, Ng is excited to take a closer look at how 2011 Women’s World Cup champions Japan prepared for and played in the championship.
“The conference showed to us how the Japan women’s team got ready for the competition and this after they were hit by the tsunami and earthquake disasters in March. I’m inspired,” she said.
“I will take home the lessons and help inspire the boys I’m coaching at the Arsenal Soccer School to overcome their personal challenges to be successful.”
