AFC offers condolences on the passing of Saminathen Marimuthu

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has offered its deepest condolences to the family and friends of former Malaysia national football referee Saminathen Marimuthu, who passed away on Saturday. 

Saminathen will always be remembered for his efforts and passion for the game, not only during his career as a referee from 1991 to 1998, but also as an AFC referee instructor, most recently for the AFC Women's Futsal Championship Malaysia 2015.

Since 2006, Saminathen was also an AFC futsal referee assessor, called up for duty at the 2016 AFC Futsal Championship in Uzbekistan, as well as Vietnam in 2014, among others. 

The thoughts and prayers of the AFC and the rest of the Asian football family are with Saminathen's close relatives and the Football Association of Malaysia.
