30 teams set to feature in Qualifiers
Kuala Lumpur: The official AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Qualifiers draw will be held at the AFC House, Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

DPR Korea, Korea Republic and Japan, who were the top three teams in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship Thailand 2017, have received direct qualification to the Finals.
Thirty teams from across Asia has also expressed interest in participating in the tournament, and are subject to going through two rounds of qualifications to earn their spot in the Finals.
Qualifiers Round 1 will consist of six groups of five teams, where the group winners and two best runners-up team will progress to the next round of the Qualifiers.
Bangladesh, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Tajikistan have expressed interest to host the Round 1 Qualifiers, will not be drawn into the same group to apply the separation of hosts.
Additionally, the host of the Finals - to be determined at a later stage - will also receive direct qualification, but will participate in the Round 1 Qualifiers for technical reasons.
However, in the case of the Host of the Finals finishing as group winners, the runners-up team of the same group shall qualify to Round 2. Subsequently, if the Host finishes as one of the best second placed teams, the third runners-up team in the overall ranking shall qualify to the next round.
The competition dates for the Qualifiers Round 1 are September 15 - 23, 2018.
The eight teams will then be divided into two groups of four teams, and the top two teams from each group shall advance to the Finals.
The competition dates for the Qualifiers Round 2 are February 23 - March 3, 2019.
