Recipients honoured with AFC Referees Memento Award
Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) presented referees and assistant referees the AFC Referees Memento Award in conjunction with the AFC Referee Assessors Seminar on Friday.
The officials were honoured with the award for their outstanding service in raising the standard of refereeing in Asia.
The award is given to match officials who have served at least five years on the AFC Elite Panel and officiated more than 30 matches.

AFC Referees Committee Deputy Chairperson Hany Taleb B S Al-Raeesi, who closed the seminar, said: “I am pleased to note that we will also honour today our AFC match officials who have decided to retire.
“We thank them for their service, and I hope that they will continue to be a part of the AFC family and pass on their experience to our aspiring match officials.”
Among the match officials who received the recognition were Zakariya Kanat of Syria, Jordan’s Issa Mahmoud Ahmad Alamawi and Saudi Arabia’s Alshalwai Abdulah Mutlaq A.
