Tashkent: The AFC Member Associations (MA) Development department concluded their visit to  Uzbekistan recently.

Under the AFC League Development Programme, the visit focused on assisting the Uzbekistan Football Federation in its marketing efforts.

It was in line with the department objective to provide the MAs with practical tools, services and other support that enable them to run and develop football as the number one sport in their country.

Workshops were held with club and stadium representatives, which covered various topics such as ‘partnership advantages in football’ and ‘stadium business development and stadium naming rights', presented by AFC consultant Elnur Mammadov.

Further potential projects were also discussed with the marketing and public relations staff such as centralised television rights, online and electronic ticketing and membership, to name a few.

The 14-day visit included club and stadium inspections to collect data which were used to evaluate business advantages and marketing opportunities.

The UFF was also asked to define detailed strategic goals and prepare a draft for its strategic marketing plan, which the AFC will analyse and approve.
