Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Governance Reform Task Force will soon be submitting the first report on its activities carried out this year to the AFC Executive Committee.
The AFC Governance Reform Task Force held its third meeting on Monday and Tuesday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur led by its Chairman Ali Kafashian of Iran.
Various items were on the meeting agenda including agreeing a conclusion on the 11 previous Ad Hoc Evaluation Committee’s recommendations, a recommendation to the AFC Executive Committee on it strategic plan and objectives as well as mission, vision, values and action plan.
The meeting also discussed Confederation statutes and external report analyses and their possible applications for the AFC.
“We will be making the first report on the AFC Governance Reform Task Force’s activities so far this year,” Kafashian told the-afc.com.
“We have studied and examined cases, governance principles and practices and our statutes. We will provide the report on our activities to the AFC Executive Committee (ExCo) for its consideration and a possible decision during its meeting in November.
“The Task Force will await the feedback from the ExCo to our report and we will arrange our next meeting after receiving the feedback.”
The AFC Governance Reform Task Force is charged with providing further recommendations for the AFC to modernise the Confederation’s governance structures as well as analyse new governance concepts.
The Task Force comprises Ali Kafashian (IRN), Chairman; Mariano V. Araneta, Jr. (PHI), Deputy Chairman; CJ Park (KOR), Member; Joko Driyono (IDN), Member; Naser Al Taher (KUW), Member. Sanjeevan Balasingam, AFC Director of Member Associations and Development, and Alex Phillips, AFC-UEFA MoU Consultant, are supporting the Task Force in their work.
The Task Force members are independent from the AFC Executive Committee and reflect both a broad range of experience as well as the AFC’s geography.
