Thailand defeated Myanmar 3-0 and successfully defended their Southeast Asian (SEA) Games title, their 13th since 1977.

Following a goalless first half, Thailand were on fire in the second with goals from Tanaboon Ketsarat in the 54th minute and Chananan Pombupha (64th) before the win was sealed by Pinyo Inpinit on the 78th minute mark.

The War Elephants enjoyed a brilliant football campaign with seven wins in the Games in Singapore with a total of 24 goals, conceding only one.

In the third place play-off, strong Vietnam thrashed Indonesia 5-0.
