Emirates club prez 3x2Ras Al Khaimah: The President of Emirates Club Sheikh Ahmed bin Sager Al Qasimi believes that the knowledge gained from successfully hosting the AFC U-19 Championship 2012 will help them organise even big football events in the future as the club was actively involved in organising the competition.

Emirates Club who play their home matches at the Emirates Stadium which hosted the competition including the semi-final and final.

“Ras Al Khaimah has got its name throughout Asia through this tournament,” he told www.the-afc.com

“Now people from at least all the participating countries know about this emirate and I am very happy that my emirate received so much attention over the past two weeks.

“This tournament also helped us learn how the international football tournament of this magnitude are organised and I would like to thank my staff who worked very hard to provide facilities for this tournament.

Sheikh Ahmed also vowed to utilise this tournament’s knowledge at its best when football comes back to city next year in the form of FIFA U-17 World Cup.

“We will put in our best efforts and learning from this competition when we will host the FIFA U-17 World Cup next year and I hope many spectators will turn to watch the games.

"This competition is the first official AFC event played in Ras Al Khaimah and we feel honoured to get the hosting rights," he said.
