pleque presentation 3x2Ras Al Khaimah: AFC Acting President Zhang Jilong praised the Local Organising Committee of the AFC U-19 Championship for providing world-class facilities and for their supports in hosting the competition.

Unveiling the plaque as appreciation from AFC to the UAE Football Association and the venues of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, Jilong said both the venues did tremendous job and it was a learning experience for them to host international football competition of this magnitude.

“I am sure this competition helped both these venues gain valuable experience in organising international competitions as they prepare to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup next year,” he said.

“On behalf of AFC and the AFC Executive Committee, I would like to thank UAE FA, the governments of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, the management of the stadiums and the organizing clubs and all those who were involved in the successful organisation of this competition.”

UAE Football Association President, Yousuf Al Serkal, who is also the AFC Vice-President said, “I hope you have enjoyed the past two weeks here in the Emirates of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. We worked like a family and I am proud that the UAE successfully hosted the AFC U-19 Championship.” 

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, President of the UAE’s Emirates Club where the matches of the competition including the semi-finals and final are being played, said, “We would like to thank UAE FA staff, the people of Ras Al Khaimah and the AFC for putting great efforts to make this tournament a success. We tried our best to provide all sorts of facilities during the championship.”
