Myanmar: Malaysia came from behind to claim a 3-2 win against Cambodia in their 2016 AFF Championship Group B opener at Thuwanna Stadium in Myanmar on Sunday.
Chan Vathanaka delighted Cambodian fans after beating the offside trap and slotting home after only seven minutes, but Syazwan Zainon restored parity for Malaysia in the 37th minute.
Cambodia responded in the best way possible in the 59th minute, Vathanaka restoring their one-goal advantage with his second goal of the afternoon. However, their lead lasted only ten minutes as Amri Yahyah finished from point blank range to pull Malaysia back into the game once more.
The Malaysian captain then turned the game on its head by making a great run into the box sidefooting past Son Yaty as Harimau Malaysia sealed three crucial points for Ong Kim Swee's side.
