Melbourne: Caitlin Foord has hailed the impact of superstar Sam Kerr and believes the striker's stunning goal-scoring form is bringing the best out of the entire Australian team.
Kerr nabbed a brace - her second an incredible long-range strike - as the Matildas accounted for China PR 3-0 at AAMI Park on Wednesday.
Kerr has now scored a remarkable 22 goals in her last 18 games for club and country, including seven in her last four outings for Australia.
“She just keeps scoring goals, doesn't she?," Foord said. “I think it drives the team to be better.
“To know you have someone who can score goals when you need them is a good feeling to have.
Such has been Kerr's form that she has been nominated for the AFC Player of the Year 2017, with the winner to be announced in Bangkok, Thailand on November 29.
