Qualifiers - Group D: IR Iran 1-2 India; Chinese Taipei 1-3 Palestine

Ahmedabad: India qualified for the  AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ after a hard-fought 2-1 win against Islamic Republic of Iran in their final Qualifiers Group D tie on Sunday.

The hosts finished level on seven points with Iran but advanced on the head-to-head ratio as they booked a fourth consecutive appearance at the Finals. 

Palestine ended their campaign earlier on Sunday with a 3-1 win against Chinese Taipei.

Ahmedabad: Islamic Republic of Iran came from behind to defeat Palestine 3-1 in their AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers Group D tie on Friday.

Lebanon concluded their campaign with a 2-0 win against India, their first of the campaign but their haul of six points is one behind Iran as they exited the competition.

Baghdad: Al Zawraa SC defeated FC Goa 2-1 in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 Group D fixture at the Al Zawraa Stadium on Wednesday to move a step closer to the knockout stage.

Kadhim Raad and Hasan Abdulkareem’s strikes took the sting off Dhurgham Ismail’s own goal and gave the Iraqi side nine points, six behind already-qualified Al Nassr Club and three clear of third-placed FC Istiklol. India’s Goa suffered a fifth consecutive defeat.

Hosts India secured their first win after fighting back to beat Chinese Taipei 3-1.

Wuhan: Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC underlined their determination to defend the title with a dominant performance in Group B of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26, finishing top and sending a warning to their challengers. 

A 4-0 win against Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC on Sunday, which was achieved despite not being at full strength, showed the China PR side will be a team to avoid when the knockout stage draw is held in January.

Wuhan Jiangda topped the standings with seven points, three ahead of PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan and India’s East Bengal FC.

Wuhan: PFC Nasaf booked their place in the quarter-finals of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 after defeating East Bengal FC 3-0 in their concluding Group B tie on Sunday.

The win moved the Uzbekistan side to four points, guaranteeing them a spot as one of the best third-placed finishers with the possibility of advancing automatically should Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC defeat Bam Khatoon FC in the later game.

Wuhan: Head coach Anthony Andrews does not want East Bengal FC to get carried away with their 3-1 win over Bam Khatoon FC in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 Group B opener on Monday.

The Indian side led from start to finish as goals from Shilky Hemam and Fazila Ikwaput set the tone going into the break, with Mona Hamoudi pulling one back for IR Iran’s Bam Khatoon before Resty Nanziri put the game beyond reach.

The win boosted East Bengal’s knockout stage hopes but Andrews stressed that his team must remain focused with defending champions Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC of China PR next on the cards.
