Construction of Mongolia’s School No. 79 new pitch to commence

Ulaanbaatar: The construction of the new football pitch at Mongolia’s School No. 79 marked a major milestone on Monday after the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) signed an agreement with football pitch contractors Derennaran LLC to commence the landmark project on May 10, 2020. 

Supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation, the proposal to build a football pitch was initiated in 2018 after tragedy struck School No. 79 when an 11-year-old male student tragically died after a goal post fell on him.

BFF begins Social Responsibility journey to help youths

Thimphu: The Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) has embarked on a year-long social responsibility programme, in conjunction with the AFC Dream Asia Foundation, to help youths conflicted with the law in the country.

BFF are working with Nashoen Lamtoen to organise programmes that use the power of football to reach out to convicted youths, who are often subjected to abuse, neglect and have been marginalised by society.

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Member Associations as well as Asian clubs and players continue to lend their unwavering support to the communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by donating funds, medical supplies and hospital equipment. 

The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF), Chinese national team members and clubs exemplify the AFC’s Social Responsibility message that “Football Cares” by assisting the hospitals, medical teams and people in need.

FIFA’s Football for Schools launched in Myanmar

Yangon: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Vice President and President of the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) Zaw Zaw on Friday launched FIFA’s Football for Schools project in Myanmar at the Yangon Football Academy attended by State Counsellor and Nobel Peace Prize laureate H.E. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.  

To support this venture, President Zaw Zaw, Chairman of the AFC Social Responsibility Committee, also announced that he has donated a further 10,000 footballs towards this initiative.

'Power of Heroes' inspires young players in China PR

Changsha: The Chinese Football Association (CFA), with the support of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), staged the annual CFA Dream China Social Responsibilities Initiatives programme in Changsha and harnessed the ‘power of heroes’ to inspire young players.

The three-day programme was the culmination of a month long event which involved over 5,300 children and provided the opportunity for teams from across the Hunan province, including the remote mountain area of Zhangjiajie, to meet the stars of Chinese football.

Palestine football gives a Red Card to violence against women

Palestine: The Palestine Football Association (PFA), supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), launched a campaign to publicise the importance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women at the Martyr Faisal Husseini Stadium in Al-Ram, Palestine.

The campaign is an initiative to end violence against women in Palestine - both on and off the field - by bringing together teams from both Beit Sahour and Al-Diar for the final round of the PFA’s Women's Cup League.

Rohingya children benefit from the power of football

Klang: The third phase of the AFC-FAM-UNHCR-JREC Rohingya Education Centre Social Responsibility Programme concluded with 140 Rohingya children benefiting from the highly successful programme at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Belah on November 23, 2019.

The AFC-UNHCR Programme, which is supported by the AFC Dream Asia Foundation in partnership with the Rohingya Education Centre (JREC), the United Nations High Commission For Refugees (UNHCR) and Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), underlines the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Vision and Mission to use the sport as a tool for social development.

And with various activities organised for the Rohingya children, the AFC-FAM-UNHCR-JREC Rohingya Education Centre Social Responsibility Programme brought joy to the children while also providing them with education and knowledge through the power of football.
