Oman FA champions social inclusion through Down Syndrome and Autism programme

Muscat: Supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation (ADAF), the Oman Football Association (OFA) successfully delivered an inclusive football programme for people with Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder in Muscat, Oman.

Benefiting a total of 36 participants — 15 with Down Syndrome and 21 with Autism — the programme was conducted in collaboration with the Oman Paralympic Committee, Oman Autism Society and Special Olympics Oman.

The seminar was yet another demonstration of the AFC’s Vision and Mission of working in close partnership with its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) to leverage the power of the beautiful game as a force for social good.

Tashkent revels in UFA’s “We Are All Equal” programme

Tashkent: The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA), supported by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Foundation, hosted the “We Are All Equal” programme for children with disabilities and special needs, further underlining the power of football in promoting inclusion and equality in society.

Held on April 15, 2025, at Special School No. 52 in Tashkent, the fun-filled event welcomed more than 140 children, uniting them in a day of joy, empowerment and belonging through the beautiful game.

The AFC mandates that 5% of the prize money earned by the AFC Champions League™ winners and runners-up are to be allocated towards social responsibility projects.

WAFF strengthens Child Safeguarding efforts with new training manual

Kuala Lumpur: The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF)’s commitment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and youth in the region marked a significant milestone with the launch of its WAFF Child Safeguarding Training Manual.

Available in English and Arabic, the training manual, which includes a basic training framework of child safeguarding and protection, has been designed to provide necessary support to Member Associations (MAs) in the West zone through various best practices in child safeguarding.
