Qualifiers - Group K: Myanmar 4-0 Sri Lanka; Maldives 2-0 Brunei Darussalam

Yangon: Myanmar cruised to a 4-0 win over Sri Lanka in their AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers Development Phase Group K tie on Monday.

In the later match, Maldives registered a 2-0 win over Brunei Darussalam.

Uzbekistan 2027 hopefuls discover qualification path

Kuala Lumpur: Teams aiming to vie for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027™ title discovered their Qualifiers challenge following the Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 35 teams were divided into seven groups of five to contest a single round-robin centralised league for the qualifying rounds that run from November 8 to 20, 2026.

The seven group winners will join the nine AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 who have automatically qualified - Australia, China PR, Japan (defending champions), Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam - in the Finals.

Yangon: Ayeyawady FC - Women booked their ticket to the Group Stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ with a well-deserved 1-0 win over New Taipei City Hang Yuan FC on Sunday. 

Making their first Continental appearance, a second-half winner by Lin Myint Mo saw the Myanmar side close their Preliminary Stage campaign with a perfect record in Group F while fellow debutants Hang Yuan of Chinese Taipei exited in second place with two wins.

Yangon: Myanmar’s Ayeyawady FC - Women moved closer to the Group Stage of the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ after strolling to an easy 8-0 win over No Limits FC on Thursday. 

The Continental debutants, who claimed their second consecutive Preliminary Stage victory, will face New Taipei City Hang Yuan FC on Sunday while Lebanon’s No Limits will look for their first win against FC Jurong of Singapore.

Yangon: Ayeyawady FC - Women got off to a resounding start in the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Preliminary Stage as they outplayed FC Jurong of Singapore 4-0 at the Thuwunna Football Stadium on Monday. 

Myanmar’s Ayeyawady, making their first Continental appearance, dominated their fellow debutants and will look to reproduce their performance against No Limits FC of Lebanon on Thursday while Jurong will look to do better against New Taipei City Hang Yuan FC.

Group B: Malaysia, Thailand make semis

Kuala Lumpur: Thailand set up an ASEAN Championship 2026 semi-final with four-times champions Singapore as Anthony Hudson’s side notched up a 2-0 win over Myanmar in Bangkok to seal top spot in Group B while Malaysia also advanced after their 1-0 victory over the Philippines.

The Singaporeans will host the first semi-final on August 15 against the seven-times champions with the return in Bangkok three days later while Malaysia will play against title holders Vietnam in the second semi-final on August 16 and August 19.

A penalty in each half from Worachit Kanitsribumphen and Jehhanafee Mamah earned the Thais their fourth win of the group phase as Hudson’s side finished with a perfect record and three points clear of the second-placed Malaysians.

Capas: Thailand maintained their perfect record in Group B of the ASEAN Championship 2026 on Tuesday as Waris Choolthong’s late header earned the former champions a 1-0 win over the Philippines that keeps Anthony Hudson’s side on top of the standings.

Hudson made eight changes to the team that won the previous outing against Malaysia and the Thais had to wait until four minutes from time to claim the three points when Waris powered Picha Autra’s cross from the left past Patrick Deyto.

Group B: Malaysia march on; Myanmar bounce back

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia handed Laos a 4-0 defeat in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday as Tan Cheng Hoe’s side completed consecutive victories in Group B of the ASEAN Championship 2026 while Myanmar bounced back from their opening day loss to win 4-1 against the Philippines.

Paulo Josue scored for the second game in a row after a double in the win over Myanmar on Saturday to send the Malaysians on their way to victory with Endrick also on target before an own goal by Viengxay Sidavong and a fine free-kick by substitute Wan Kuzain.

Malaysia lead the standings with six points from their opening two matches and will face second-placed Thailand, who did not play on Tuesday, on Saturday while Laos will take on the Philippines.

Yangon: Two goals in five second-half minutes from captain Paulo Josue earned Malaysia a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Myanmar in Yangon on Saturday as Tan Cheng Hoe’s side made a winning start to Group B in the ASEAN Championship 2026.

Thailand, meanwhile, began their bid to reclaim the title with an impressive 5-0 defeat of Laos.

#U17WAC - Stage set for China 2027 Qualifiers

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2027 is all set for take off following the conclusion of the Qualifiers Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 30 teams - two more than the previous record of 28 from the 2019 Qualifiers - were divided into eight groups - six of four and two of three - to contest a single round-robin centralised league from October 5 to 11.

Each group winner will advance to the Finals, joining the quartet of teams that have qualified directly as the top four finishers from the 2026 campaign: defending champions DPR Korea, runners-up Japan, and semi-finalists Australia and China PR.
