Qualifiers - Group F: Turkmenistan 0-1 Thailand; UAE 1-2 Iraq

Chonburi: Thailand moved three points clear at the top of Group F in the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers on Thursday with a 1-0 win over Turkmenistan in Chonburi as Iraq battled back to secure an eventful 2-1 victory over the United Arab Emirates.

The Thais picked up their second win in a row with Siwa Pikulhom’s 57th minute volley earning Jukkapant Punpee’s side three points to move clear at the summit with one round of matches remaining.

The win follows an opening victory against the UAE and leaves Thailand on the cusp of qualifying for next year’s finals, which will be played in Uzbekistan.

Chonburi: Turkmenistan stunned Iraq 2-1 in their AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027™ Qualifiers Group F opener on Monday.

Thailand were equally impressive, edging the United Arab Emirates 1-0.

Kuala Lumpur: Teams aiming to vie for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027™ title discovered their Qualifiers challenge following the Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 35 teams were divided into seven groups of five to contest a single round-robin centralised league for the qualifying rounds that run from November 8 to 20, 2026.

The seven group winners will join the nine AFC representatives from the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 who have automatically qualified - Australia, China PR, Japan (defending champions), Korea Republic, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam - in the Finals.

Vietnam hold off Thailand to clinch title

Hanoi: Vietnam retained their ASEAN Championship title on Wednesday as Kim Sang-sik’s side twice battled back to draw 2-2 with Thailand in Hanoi to complete a 4-2 aggregate win over the seven-times champions.

Yotsakon Burapha struck in the 12th minute to pull Thailand back into the tie after losing 2-0 in the first leg in Bangkok but an own goal by Chatchai Bootprom saw Vietnam level in the 52nd minute, three minutes after Thailand’s Kakana Khamyol had fired a penalty over the bar.

 

Wanchai Jarunongkran gave Thailand late hope when he netted in the 84th minute, only to put the ball in his own net with virtually the last kick of the game to hand Vietnam a draw that completed their title defence.

Pathum Thani: 4.25 SC of DPR Korea stayed perfect after breezing 4-1 past Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars to reach the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Group Stage on Sunday.

The victory saw 4.25 finish their Preliminary Stage Group D campaign with maximum points and they will now set their sights on challenging for the title.

Bangkok: Two goals in seven second half minutes from Nguyen Hai Long and Nguyen Quang Hai earned Vietnam a 2-0 win over Thailand in the first leg of the ASEAN Championship 2026 final on Saturday to keep Kim Sang-sik’s side on course for a successful defence of the title.

Substitute Hai Long broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute with a coolly finish before Quang Hai doubled his side’s advantage with a clinical volley on the run after Do Hoang Hen’s curling cross from the right.

The teams will face off again in Hanoi on Wednesday with the Vietnamese attempting to win back-to-back titles for the first time and a fourth title in total. Thailand have won the competition a record seven times.

India crowned inaugural eFootball Mobile champions

Kuala Lumpur: The FIFAe Continental Championship 2026 by AFC concluded on Saturday with India crowned the inaugural eFootball Mobile champions after edging Japan in the Final.

Thailand also secured their place at the FIFAe Finals 2026 after defeating Jordan in the 2nd Chance Final, joining finalists India and Japan on the global stage.

For Jordan, their campaign continued through the Intercontinental Playoffs, where they defeated New Zealand in straight games to reach the FIFAe Finals.

Kuala Lumpur: Recovery is at the forefront as Thailand and Vietnam look to lock horns in the final of the ASEAN Championship 2026, starting with the first leg on Saturday.

It is fast becoming a tie that is synonymous with the tournament with this being the third consecutive final played between the same sides with a win for each in the previous two editions.

Thailand survive Singapore fightback to advance

Bangkok: Thailand advanced to the final of the ASEAN Championship 2026 despite slipping to a 2-1 loss against Singapore in Bangkok on Tuesday as Anthony Hudson’s side completed a 4-3 aggregate win to progress to the two-legged decider.

Kakana Khamyok’s 61st minute penalty proved decisive, the spot-kick levelling the scores after Harhys Stewart had given Singapore a 45th minute lead only for Pansa Hemviboon’s own goal to restore the visitors’ one-goal advantage.

Gavin Lee’s side were unable to find their way through the Thai defence for a third time, however, and Thailand will face either Vietnam or Malaysia in the home-and-away final in their quest for a record-extending eighth title.

Pathum Thani: College of Asian Scholars turned on the power despite a weather delay as they cruised to a 10-0 win against S’Amuser FC in their AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27™ Preliminary Stage Group D fixture on Monday.

The Thai side shrugged off a 58-minute weather-enforced delay to take maximum points and will look forward to Thursday's encounter with 4.25 SC of DPR Korea. Timor-Leste's S’Amuser will aim to bounce back against Mongolia's Kharaatsai FC.
