Perth: Chinese Taipei revived their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ hopes with a 1-0 victory over Vietnam in their Group C tie on Saturday.

Su Yu-Hsuan scored with a close-range header in the 26th minute to get the East Asian side back on track after their opening day defeat to Japan while defeat was a blow to Vietnam’s hopes after having opened their campaign with victory against India.

While her two goals proved decisive, Van Su insisted the victory at the Perth Rectangular Stadium was built on preparation and belief rather than individual brilliance.

Mai applauds Vietnam’s tenacity; Valverde rues India’s missed opportunity

Perth: Mai Duc Chung hailed his players’ composure after Ngan Thi Van Su’s brace secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over India in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Group C tie at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Wednesday.

The Vietnam head coach never doubted his players’ determination to push for the win, even after India had equalised midway through the second half.

Perth: Ngan Thi Van Su struck both goals as Vietnam edged India 2-1 in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Group C tie at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Wednesday.

India thought they had salvaged a point after Sanfida Nongrum came off the bench to draw them level but Van Su struck in the fourth minute of second half added time to steal the points at the very end for Vietnam.
