The result meant that Indonesia and Iraq - who beat Korea Republic 3-2 earlier in the day - are assured of a top two finish with the two to square off on Saturday to decide the group winners.

Jakarta: Joao Carlos and Hector Souto are both expecting victories from Iraq and Indonesia respectively in Group A of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ on Thursday.

Both sides got their campaigns off to roaring starts, with Iraq coming from behind to defeat Kyrgyz Republic in their opener while Indonesia romped to a 5-0 victory against Korea Republic.

Wins on Thursday will confirm their quarter-final tickets and set up an exciting face-off between the two for the group’s top spot on Saturday.
