Australia lead AFC Women’s Club Competition Mid-Season Ranking

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today confirmed the AFC Women’s Club Competition Mid-Season Ranking, with Australia remaining in pole position.

With a total of 97.934 points, Australia are followed by East Asian heavyweights Japan and China PR in second and third place respectively.

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 quarter-final cast was confirmed following the conclusion of the group stage on Sunday.

The top teams from each of the three groups and two best third-placed sides advanced to the quarter-finals, with the draw to be held on January 15.

Wuhan: Wuhan Jiangda Women’s FC underlined their determination to defend the title with a dominant performance in Group B of the AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26, finishing top and sending a warning to their challengers. 

A 4-0 win against Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC on Sunday, which was achieved despite not being at full strength, showed the China PR side will be a team to avoid when the knockout stage draw is held in January.

Wuhan Jiangda topped the standings with seven points, three ahead of PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan and India’s East Bengal FC.

Ho Chi Minh City: Melbourne City FC head coach Michael Matricciani was all smiles after his side wrapped up their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2025/26 group stage campaign with a 3-0 victory over Ho Chi Minh City.

The A-League side led from start to finish with first-half goals from Holly McNamara, Alexia Apostolakis and Shelby McMahon sealing the win and seeing out another clean sheet to complete a flawless campaign.

Ho Chi Minh also advanced after finishing as the runners-up with Stallion Laguna FC of the Philippines taking third place.
