Group E: Beijing FC (CHN) 3-0 Tai Po FC (HKG)

Beijing: Beijing FC revived their AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 hopes with a 3-0 defeat of Tai Po FC in a Group E tie on Thursday.

The Chinese Super League side’s their first saw them move up to five points, level with Vietnam’s Cong An Ha Noi FC and two adrift of pacesetters Macarthur FC of Australia. Tai Po remained on four points.

Hong Kong: Ratchaburi FC produced a sparkling second half to cruise 7-0 past Eastern FC in their AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 Group F tie on Wednesday.

The victory revived the Thai side’s knockout stage hopes as they moved up to six points - level with Vietnam’s Nam Dinh FC - with the sides to meet on November 27.

East Asia Wrap: Kashima drop points but stay ahead; Shanghai Port stumble

Hong Kong: Kashima Antlers maintained their lead in Japan despite being held by Kyoto Sanga, while Kashiwa Reysol remain in close pursuit.

In China PR, Shanghai Port slipped to defeat against Shandong Taishan, allowing Chengdu Rongcheng and Shanghai Shenhua to close the gap to one and two points respectively with just two matchdays remaining.

Korea Republic’s Gimcheon Sangmu stunned newly crowned champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, while North District and Kitchee remain level at the summit in Hong Kong, China.

Group E: Tai Po FC (HKG) 3-3 Beijing FC (CHN)

Hong Kong: Michel Renner scored a 90th minute equaliser to earn Tai Po FC a 3-3 draw with Beijing FC at Mongkok Stadium in Group E of the AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 on Thursday to cap a dramatic clash that had earlier seen the Chinese side overturn a two goal deficit.

Fabio Abreu looked to have capped a remarkable comeback when he gave Beijing the lead in the 83rd minute after Renner had put Tai Po ahead in the 17th minute and James Temelkovski added a second for the Hong Kong Premier League side from the spot 12 minutes later.
 
Bai Yang’s header reduced the deficit in the 36th minute before Michael Ngadeu levelled for Beijing in the 53rd minute to leave Abreu to put his side ahead, only for Renner to net Tai Po’s third at the end of a dramatic clash.

Ratchaburi: A hat-trick by Denilson Junior helped Ratchaburi FC defeat Eastern FC 5-1 and claim their first AFC Champions League Two™ 2025/26 Group F win at the Ratchaburi Stadium on Wednesday.

The emphatic victory gave the hosts a much-needed three points and kept their knockout stage hopes alive while the Hong Kong Premier League side fell to their third straight loss.

Hong Kong: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors won their 10th K League 1 title, while Shanghai Port held on to first place in China PR after a high-scoring victory against Qingdao Hainiu.

In Japan, Kashiwa Reysol produced a five-star performance to stay in contention, as the title race enters its final stretch. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Premier League saw the top three remain level on points after another tightly contested round.

Qualifiers - Group D: Vietnam 1-0 Hong Kong, China

Binh Duong: Ngo Hai Yen scored the winning goal as Vietnam booked their place in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 after defeating Hong Kong, China 1-0 in their Qualifiers Group D tie on Friday.

Vietnam topped the table with six points and can now look forward to locking horns with the Continent’s best in the Finals.

AFC celebrates exemplary MAs and RAs

Riyadh: The steadfast resolve of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) to enhance football at all levels was commemorated on Thursday evening at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 presented by NEOM.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation was recognised as the AFC Member Association of the Year in the Platinum category. The Football Association of Thailand received the Diamond accolade for the second year in a row, while The Football Association of Hong Kong, China Limited was conferred the Gold award, with the Lao Football Federation retaining its Ruby status.

Westwood rues Hong Kong, China’s missed opportunity

Hong Kong: Ashley Westwood did not hide his disappointment after Hong Kong, China were held to a 1-1 draw by Bangladesh in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group C tie on Tuesday.

Victory would have placed the East Asian side within touching distance of the Finals but Rakib Hussain's 84th minute goal meant the spoils were shared, with captain Matt Orr having given Hong Kong, China the lead in the 36th minute much to the delight of the more than 45,000 fans in the Kai Tak Stadium.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong, China were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Bangladesh in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group C tie on Tuesday.

Having taken the lead through Matt Orr in the first half, Hong Kong, China looked set for the three points but were undone by Rakib Hussain's late equaliser.

Dhaka:  Hong Kong, China edged a fighting Bangladesh 4-3 in a thrilling AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group C match at the National Stadium Dhaka on Thursday.

Bangladesh had fought back from two goals down to draw level but hat-trick hero Raphael Merkies struck deep into added time to move Hong Kong, China to the top of the group on seven points, two ahead of Singapore.
