Perth: Ngan Thi Van Su struck both goals as Vietnam edged India 2-1 in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Group C tie at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Wednesday.

India thought they had salvaged a point after Sanfida Nongrum came off the bench to draw them level but Van Su struck in the fourth minute of second half added time to steal the points at the very end for Vietnam.

Perth: Japan worked hard to secure a 2-0 win over Chinese Taipei in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ Group C opener at the Perth Rectangular Stadium on Wednesday.

Frustrated for long periods by resolute Chinese Taipei defending, second half goals from Momoko Tanikawa and Kiko Seike took them over the line as they kicked off their campaign for a third title with three points.

Sydney: Ante Milicic was delighted to see China PR make a positive start to their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026™ campaign, registering a 2-0 win against plucky Bangladesh in their Group B tie on Tuesday.

In a match which the East Asian side dominated with close to 60 percent possession and 24 attempts, Milicic admitted there were nerves at play as first half strikes from Wang Shuang and Zhang Rui settled the contest.

Sydney: Even though DPR Korea marked their return to the continental stage with a comfortable 3-0 win against Uzbekistan in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 opener, head coach Ri Song Ho was left with much to mull over.

All three goals in Tuesday’s encounter came in the first half and while there was no lack of effort to add to the scoreline after the break, the fourth remained elusive, one of the many factors now on Ri’s mind as they prepare for the upcoming tie against debutants Bangladesh.
