Qualifiers - Group B: Bahrain 4-0 Nepal; Chinese Taipei 1-3 Uzbekistan

New Taipei: Uzbekistan moved within a point of confirming their ticket to the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Finals after a comprehensive 3-1 win against Chinese Taipei on Friday. 

The win took the Central Asian side to nine points and avoiding defeat against Bahrain - who revived their hopes with a 4-0 win against Nepal in the earlier tie on Friday - will confirm Uzbekistan as the group winners.

New Taipei: Uzbekistan made it two wins out of two after they beat Nepal 6-0 in their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers Group B match on Wednesday.

In the other game, an impressive Cambodia clinched a 1-0 win against Bahrain thanks to Mean Chanrith's second half strike.

Qualifiers - Group B: Cambodia 0-7 Uzbekistan; Nepal 3-1 Chinese Taipei

New Taipei: Defending champions Uzbekistan began their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers campaign in style, beating Cambodia 7-0 in their Group B match on Monday.

In the second match, Nepal bounced back from losing to Cambodia on Saturday to defeat Chinese Taipei 3-1 to keep their qualification hopes alive.

New Taipei: Cambodia secured a winning start to their AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2025 Qualifiers campaign after defeating Nepal 4-1 in a Group B tie at the Fu Jen University ground on Saturday.

Bahrain, meanwhile, were made to work hard by hosts Chinese Taipei before securing a 1-0 win.

Sabah’s Ganai satisfied with draw

Kota Kinabalu: Head coach Justin Ganai was pleased with the valuable point Sabah FA earned in the goalless draw with APF Football Club in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 Preliminary Stage Group C match on Wednesday.

Even though the result put them in the difficult position of needing a win against group leaders FC Nasaf in their final game, Justin wants his side to take the positives from the match against APF and start building towards Saturday’s winner-takes-all encounter.

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FA of Malaysia withstood heavy pressure from Nepal’s APF Football Club before coming away with a goalless draw in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 Preliminary Stage Group C tie on Wednesday.

The result means that Sabah will go into Saturday’s clash with Uzbekistan’s FC Nasaf still with a chance of reaching the group stage while APF exit the competition with one point from two matches.

Lalitpur: Bangladesh won their maiden SAFF U-20 SAFF Championship in style, cruising 4-1 past Nepal in the final of the 2024 edition on Wednesday.

Mirajul Islam, who scored a brace and set up another, was the star of the show with  Rabby Hossen Rahul and Piyas Ahmmed Nova scoring one apiece, while Samir Tamang reduced the margin for hosts Nepal.

Kota Kinabalu: Lily Niber-Lawrence could not have asked for a better continental debut after steering Uzbekistan’s PFC Nasaf to a 1-0 win against APF Football Club of Nepal in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 Preliminary Stage Group C tie on Sunday.

The decisive moment came in the 49th minute, with the midfielder calmly slotting home the rebound after substitute Lyudmila Karachik’s effort struck the bar.

Kota Kinabalu: Lily Niber-Lawrence’s second half strike secured PFC Nasaf of Uzbekistan a 1-0 win against Nepal’s APF Football Club in their AFC Women’s Champions League™ 2024/25 Preliminary Stage Group C tie at the Likas Stadium on Sunday.

Niber-Lawrence struck in the 49th minute to earn the three points for Nasaf, who will face Sabah FC on Saturday, while APF will be hoping to rebound when they take on the Malaysian side on Wednesday.
