Qualifiers - Group A: Bahrain 10-0 Brunei Darussalam; Timor-Leste 2-1 Sri Lanka; China PR 4-0 Bangladesh

Chongqing: China PR confirmed their AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ ticket with a 4-0 win against Bangladesh on Sunday.

The victory meant China PR finished with a perfect 15 points, with Bangladesh three adrift.

Bahrain and Timor-Leste, meanwhile, completed their campaigns with victories against Brunei Darussalam and Sri Lanka respectively.

Chongqing: Bangladesh and China PR are set for a blockbuster final day clash after both registered their fourth consecutive wins in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ Qualifiers on Friday.

Bangladesh defeated Bahrain 2-1 while China PR strolled to an 8-0 win against Sri Lanka.

Timor-Leste, meanwhile, registered their first points with a 2-0 defeat of Brunei Darussalam.

Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka 5-0 while China PR cruised 12-0 past Brunei Darussalam. 

Bahrain kept their slim hopes of qualifying alive with a 3-0 defeat of Timor-Leste.

Bangladesh cruised 5-0 past Timor-Leste while China and Sri Lanka defeated Bahrain and Brunei Darussalam respectively by 4-0 score lines.

Soonsup-Bell delighted to have delivered for Thailand

Colombo: Jude Soonsup-Bell had a debut to remember after helping Thailand defeat Sri Lanka 4-0 in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group D tie on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old - making his competitive debut for Thailand - scored twice after coming on in the 66th minute to replace Teerasak Poeiphimai with the Grimsby Town forward pleased with how the match turned out.

Colombo: Thailand produced a clinical performance to defeat Sri Lanka 4-0 in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group D tie on Tuesday.

Seeking a third straight Finals appearance, Thailand’s fate will be decided when they face Turkmenistan in their final Group D fixture on March 31.

Arkadag: Turkmenistan remained in control of their destiny after sealing a 2-1 win over Sri Lanka in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group D tie at the Arkadag Stadium on Tuesday.

The victory meant Turkmenistan are back on top of the group, level on eight points with Thailand with a favourable head-to-head record against the Southeast Asian side.

Ishii praises Thailand’s response; Thayaparan salutes Sri Lanka’s collective effort

Bangkok: Masatada Ishii was full of praise for his Thailand side after they bounced back from their Matchday Two defeat with a 2-0 win against Chinese Taipei in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group D tie on Thursday.

Having lost to Turkmenistan in June, the pressure was high on Ishii and Thailand but second half goals from Seksan Ratree and Chanathip Songkrasin secured victory against Chinese Taipei, with the Japanese tactician pleased with the fighting spirit of his players.

Qualifiers - Group D: Sri Lanka 1-0 Turkmenistan

Colombo: Sri Lanka stunned Turkmenistan 1-0 in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group D clash at the Race Course International Stadium on Thursday.

Leon Manimeldura's strike in the second half revived the South Asian side’s hopes as they moved up to six points while Turkmenistan lost their perfect record. The sides will meet again in Arkadag on Tuesday.

Qualifiers - Group E: Uzbekistan 2-1 Palestine; Kyrgyz Republic 6-0 Sri Lanka

Bishkek: Kyrgyz Republic secured top spot in Group E and a place at the AFC U23 Asian Cup™ Saudi Arabia 2026 Finals on Tuesday with a 6-0 victory over Sri Lanka in Bishkek while former champions Uzbekistan took second in the standings with a 2-1 win against Palestine.

The results mean Kyrgyz Republic finish in first place on goal difference ahead of their Central Asian neighbours, who also have seven points and must wait until the completion of the group phase to learn if they will advance as one of the four best runners-up.

Son stars as Korea Republic beat USA; Japan, Mexico draw

New York: Son Heung-min scored one goal and set up another to spark Korea Republic's 2-0 victory over the United States in an international football friendly on Saturday.

The matchup between two teams bound for the 2026 World Cup was played at Harrison, New Jersey, in the home stadium of MLS's New York Red Bulls.

 

Son scored in the 18th minute and Lee Dong-gyeong added another in the 43rd to secure Korea Republic's triumph against a US side coached by Mauricio Pochettino - Son's former boss at Tottenham Hotspur.
