China 2026 Draw finalised

Kuala Lumpur: The 12 hopefuls for the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026™ discovered their road to continental glory following the Official Draw at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

The 12 teams - expanded from eight - were divided into three groups with the tournament to be contested between May 1 and 17, 2026.

Doha: Al Hilal SFC's lead in the Saudi Pro League was reduced to three points after they were held by Al Qadisiyah.

Al Sadd SC, meanwhile, narrowed the gap with Al Gharafa SC to just two points after defeating the leaders while two wins over the week saw Shabab Al Ahli moving to the top of the UAE Pro League.

Kuwait wiser after campaign, says Garcia

Jakarta: Head coach Bruno Garcia believes Kuwait have learnt much from their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ campaign.

His side closed Group B with a lop-sided 7-2 win over fellow West Asian side Lebanon, with six different players finding the back of the net from the eighth minute onwards.

Kuwait had opened their competition with a 5-4 loss to Vietnam and then fell 6-1 to Thailand.

Group B: Kuwait sign off in style

Jakarta: Kuwait ended their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ campaign with a resounding 7-2 win against Lebanon on Saturday.

The victory was their first and secured them a third place finish in Group B, with Lebanon completing their journey with no points.

Jakarta: Southeast Asian rivals Thailand and Vietnam will leave no stone unturned when they meet in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ on Saturday to determine the winners of Group B.

Both sides qualified for the knockout stage with a match to spare after Thailand’s 6-1 defeat of Kuwait and Vietnam’s 2-0 win over Lebanon.

Jakarta: Vietnam notched a comfortable 2-0 win over Lebanon in their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ Group B tie on Thursday.

With Thailand defeating Kuwait 6-1 in the later tie, the win meant Diego Giustozzi’s men confirmed their ticket to the quarter-finals with a match to spare and will meet their Southeast Asian rivals on Saturday to decide the group winners.

Jakarta: Thailand and Vietnam will aim to confirm their AFC Futsal Asian Cup Indonesia 2026™ knockout stage spots with a game to spare on Thursday.

With both having registered wins on Tuesday, victories will see them booking their quarter-final spots and setting up a thrilling finale to decide the Group B winners two days later. 

Thailand, the 2024 runners-up, beat Lebanon 2-0 in their opener while Vietnam exchanged blows with Kuwait before emerging 5-4 victors.
