Doha: Early pacesetters Palestine and Syria will be looking to maintain their momentum on Matchday 2 of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 on Thursday.

Both earned hard-fought 1-0 wins on Monday to put them in a good position to advance to quarter-finals while Tunisia and Qatar will have to bounce back to pull themselves back into the race.

Doha: Omar Khribin’s second half free-kick earned Syria a hard fought 1-0 over Tunisia in their  FIFA Arab Cup 2025 Group A tie at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on Monday.

Syria meet Qatar next on Thursday, while Tunisia take on Palestine.

Qualifiers - Group G: Syria 2-2 Myanmar; Oman 4-0 Afghanistan

Yangon: Myanmar held off a late fightback from Syria to advance to the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026™ following a 2-2 stalemate in their concluding  Qualifiers Group G tie on Sunday.

Myanmar finished with 10 points, one ahead of Oman with Syria a further two adrift to seal a return to the Finals for the first time since 2006.

Syria got back to winning ways, registering a 3-1 victory over Afghanistan.

Kuwait, Syria, Palestine confirm group stage action

Doha: Kuwait, Syria and Palestine advanced to the group stage of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 with victories in their respective playoff ties on Tuesday.

Kuwait and Syria defeated Mauritania and South Sudan respectively with 2-0 score lines while Palestine edged Libya 4-3 on penalties after their tie ended goalless.

Islamabad: Syria cruised to a 5-0 win over Pakistan in Group E of  the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers -  Final Round on Tuesday to maintain their perfect record.

The win sees the West Asian side, who already qualified on Matchday Four with two rounds to spare, move up to 15 points with Pakistan rooted at the bottom.

Dushanbe: Philippines booked their berth at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 in style after a 4-0 win against Malaysia in their Qualifiers Group A tie on Friday.

The win capped a perfect campaign for the Philippines as they emerged group winners with maximum points, scoring 11 goals and conceding none.

Syria, meanwhile, concluded their campaign with a 1-0 win over Tajikistan.

Dushanbe: Malaysia made it two wins out of two in Group A of the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ China 2026 Qualifiers with a 1-0 victory against Syria on Wednesday.

The other game saw Philippines picking up a valuable 2-0 win over Tajikistan to set up a mouth-watering decider against Malaysia on Friday.

Yangon: Syria became the first side to confirm their place in the Finals after a hard-fought 3-0 win over Myanmar in their AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Qualifiers Final Round Group E tie at the Thuwanna Stadium on Tuesday.

A late brace from Pablo’ Sabbag and Mohammad Al Salkhadi’s strike took Syria to a perfect 12 points with Myanmar six behind - having lost both encounters with the West Asian side.
