Doha: Iraq got their FIFA Arab Cup 2025 Group D campaign off to a flying start with a 2-1 win against Bahrain on Wednesday.

An own goal from Bahrain keeper Ebrahim Lutfalla gave Iraq the momentum before Mohanad Ali sealed the win from inside the box.

Iraq will next meet Sudan on Saturday, with Bahrain taking on defending champions Algeria, who were held to a goalless draw by Sudan in their opening match.

Doha: Kuwait held Egypt to a 1-1 stalemate in their  FIFA Arab Cup 2025 Group A tie at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday.

After a listless opening half, Fahed Al Hajri gave Kuwait the lead with a towering header, only to be undone by goalkeeper Suod Alhoushan’s red card in the 83rd minute, with Mohamed Afsha equalising for Egypt from the spot.

Kuwait will face Jordan on Saturday, while Egypt take on UAE.

Kuala Lumpur: Japan earned their second win over Canada in four days, with Mina Tanaka’s first half strike giving them a 1-0 win at Nagasaki Stadium on Tuesday.

Australia, meanwhile, also defeated New Zealand for a second time, winning 2-0.
