Bracket Challenge - Quarter-finals: Le Cong Vinh (VIE) vs Alexander Geynrikh (UZB)

Kuala Lumpur: Vietnam's Le Cong Vinh has advanced to the AFC Asian Cup Greatest Goals Bracket Challenge semi-finals, setting up an enticing clash with Indonesia's Widodo Putra. 

Le comfortably saw off the challenge of Uzbekistan's Alexander Geynrikh in the quarter-finals, with the Vietnam legend polling 96 percent of the votes.

The semi-final, however, will not be as easy as ASEAN rival Widodo is also a firm fan favourite.

Down 3-0 against Korea Republic in the third-place playoff, Alexander Geynrikh sparked a fightback by netting a stoppage time penalty in the first half. Geynrikh’s second goal, however, was a stunner as he weaved his way into the penalty box before finishing past Sung Ryong-jung. Korea Republic, however, held on for a 3-2 win.
