Three important points for Ibrahim's Syria

Dubai: Syria head coach Fajr Ibrahim said his side secured three important points following their 4-0 win against Guam in Group A of the Asian Qualifiers on Tuesday. 


Omar Al Soma scored a hat-trick before Mahmoud Al Mawas added a fourth goal as Syria registered their third win in as many matches in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers to top the group with nine points.

Ibrahim said the three points are what mattered most for his side.

“The most important thing is that we got the three points from the match,” said Ibrahim. “It is important to remain on top of the group as well.

“I hope that the fans who supported us are satisfied with the result and performance."

"We must now shift our attention to the match against China PR because it will be a decisive match as they are our direct opponents for top spot in the group.

“It will be a special match and we will try our best to avoid losing any points,” Ibrahim concluded.
