Turkmenistan football, futsal coaches make exit
Ashgabat: Ante Miše and Robert Grdović, the respective head coaches of Turkmenistan national football and futsal teams, have returned to their homeland Croatia after their contracts were not extended amid extensive Covid-19 postponements, the Turkmenistan Football Federation announced on Saturday.
The Federation’s brief announcement stated that the contracts of both men, as well as football goalkeeping coach Sandro Tomic, have not been renewed after both the football and futsal team had major events cancelled in the coming months.
Turkmenistan’s football side – currently on top of their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Asian Qualifiers group – had been scheduled to face Korea Republic and Lebanon in March and DPR Korea in June before those matches were postponed.
