Beijing: The AFC Champions League will return to the Chinese capital for the first time since 2015 when Beijing FC host Urawa Red Diamonds in Group G at Workers Stadium on Wednesday.
Zhang Xizhe drew Beijing level with Jeonbuk on Matchday One last week before they eventually lost 3-1; however, they responded in perfect fashion by posting a 4-0 victory over Chongqing Dangdai on Saturday to maintain their 100 percent start in the Chinese Super League.
Beijing twice faced Urawa in the 2015 group stage, winning 2-0 at home and drawing 1-1 in Japan with forward Yu Dabao scoring in both games as they ultimately advanced while Urawa exited.

Urawa, meanwhile, enjoyed a winning start to their return to Continental action for the first time since lifting the trophy in 2017 as Tomoaki Makino and Daiki Hashioka each scored in a 3-0 victory over Thailand’s Buriram United last week.
The visitors, who have never won an AFC Champions League match in China, defeated Matsumoto Yamaga 1-0 on Saturday for their first victory of the J.league season.
