Despite a lively start at Khalifa International Stadium, the tie was headed for a stalemate with both teams firing blanks in the first 45 minutes.

However, with just four minutes to go, Al Ahli finally found a breakthrough as former Chelsea winger Marko Marin drove into the heart of the Al Shorta defence before an exchange of passes inside the box saw Abdulrahman Ghareeb set up the German with the goal at his mercy. Shanghai Shenhua FC vs Perth Glory, Matchday Five

Giovanni Moreno (Shanghai Shenhua FC v Perth Glory)

A pair of superb free-kicks from Bruno Fornaroli and Carlo Armiento had Perth Glory in sight of their first ever win in the competition, only for Shanghai Shenhua to come roaring back.

Any expectation that Perth’s first AFC Champions League win would come easily was quickly dismissed when Giovanni Moreno pulled a goal back for Shenhua in the 62nd minute, with the Colombian star climbing the highest to head home Cao Yunding’s cross.

Poll ends at 17:00 (UTC+8) on March 13.
