ACL2018 MD4 Toyota Player of the Week: Ali Khaseif

Kuala Lumpur: Guangzhou Evergrander's Alan has been named the Toyota Player of the Week for Matchday Six of the 2018 AFC Champions League.

A superb performance from Emirati goalkeeper Ali Khaseif in Al Jazira's 1-1 away draw with Islamic Republic of Iran's Tractorsazi Tabriz in their Group A Matchday Four clash on Tuesday saw the custodian pick up the week's top player plaudit.

The UAE international pulled off an impressive eight saves to keep his side in the match after Romarinho had given the visitors an early lead. Despite home side Tractorsazi having over 15 efforts on goal, they only a single goal in response through Farzad Hatami with 12 minutes remaining.

Khaseif, who made international headlines after a stunning display against Real Madrid in last year's FIFA Club World Cup, also registered 36 passes, one punch and one ball claim to earn an 8.4 rating to top the Toyota standings for this week.

Sebastian Tagliabue (pictured below) also shone on Matchday Four with the Al Wahda forward on target in the Emirati side's convincing 3-0 win against Zobahan of IR Iran.

The 33-year-old's opener came from two shots on target, three in total, and was one of 28 touches registered. Tagliabue also tallied 17 passes, one of which a key pass, to earn an 8.0 rating in what was a solid night's work for the Argentine.

A third Emirati club in a row sees representation next with Al Ain's Tsuskasa Shiotani (below, centre) next in the rankings after the midfielder's late equaliser silenced the 90,000 fans in attendance to watch Esteghlal drew 1-1 with the side from the Garden City .

The former Sanfrecce Hiroshima star midfielder completed 36 passed from which he created two chances, and tallied two key passes, in addition to his goal, for his 8.0 score.

And there is yet one more player from the UAE Pro League in the Toyota rankings this week as Al Wahda's Mourad Batna enters the list at number four following his goal in the victory over Zobahan.

Batna's goal, which was nominated for the Allianz Goal of the Week, came from four shots on goal and in an all-action display the Moroccan forward also registered an assist, two chances created and an 89% passing accuracy for his 8.0 rating.

Completing the top five is Melbourne Victory defender Thomas Deng who also registers a 7.9 after his fine performance in the 1-0 win over Japan's Kawasaki Frontale in Australia.

Al Rayyan's Gonzalo Viera is next with an 7.9 after an impressive display in the 2-1 victory over Al Hilal, followed by Jugurtha Hamroun of Al Sadd and Buriram United forward Diogo who both scored 7.8 ratings.
