AFC Champions League win over Sydney FC a just reward for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors’ efforts, says Morais


Doha: Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors head coach Jose Morais believes his side’s 1-0 win over Sydney FC is a just reward for the players resolve in their two games since the restart to their 2020 AFC Champions League. Group H campaign.

“It was important to win to retain our chances of qualifying,” said Morais.

“It was a big effort from the team again and I have to congratulate them. Last time we put in the effort but did not win, so we are happy to get a reward for our efforts today. The fact that our goalkeeper was chosen as MVP means he made amazing saves, but we also defended well, and the opponents were good and created chances and were good on the counter.

“We have a young squad and the experienced players helped them today to come to the required level to win. It is a difficult group with three champions in their countries.”

“We are playing well, and we need to not lose confidence and keep improving and the goals will come.”
