Al Hilal, the most successful club in Saudi Arabia, were denied a 16th league title by Al Nassr in the 2018-19 season.

Lucescu’s side, however, advanced to the 2019 AFC Champions League knockout stage by scoring four wins to top their group ahead of Qatar’s Al Duhail SC and will face domestic rivals Al Ahli for a place in the quarter-finals.

Joining the squad in Austria is United Arab Emirates’ star Omar Abdulrahman, who is continuing his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered last October during a Saudi Pro League match against Al Shabab Riyadh.
