Kim aiming to continue Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors' dominance

Jeonju: Kim Sang-sik is already feeling the pressure a day after being appointed Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors head coach but it is a challenge the former player is relishing.

Announced as Jose Morais' replacement on Tuesday, Kim has a huge responsibility going into the 2021 season with Jeonbuk having won the last four K League 1 titles and the Korean FA Cup this year.

Kim, however, believes he has the recipe to ensure Jeonbuk continue their dominance.

The search for Asia's Most Popular Football Club: Persija Jakarta, Johor Darul Ta'zim advance to final

Kuala Lumpur: Persija Jakarta and Johor Darul Ta'zim are through to the final of the Search for Asia's Most Popular Football Club after finishing as the two highest ranked teams in the ASEAN poll.

Indonesia's Persija Jakarta received 32.5% of the total votes cast while Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim garnered 29%.

They join Islamic Republic of Iran clubs Tractor SC and Persepolis FC, who finished top two in the combined Central & South Asia poll, in the final. Also through to the final are China PR's Shanghai Shenhua and Korea Republic's Suwon Samsung Bluewings, who topped the East Asia poll.

The poll for the West region ends on Saturday with the final kicking off on Sunday.

Spaniard Ricardo Rodriquez replaces Tsuyoshi Otsuki at Urawa Red Diamonds

Saitama: Tsuyoshi Otsuki will leave Urawa Red Diamonds a year after leading the club to the final of the 2019 AFC Champions League, with the J.League outfit on Tuesday naming Spaniard Ricardo Rodriquez as their head coach for next season.

Otsuki’s side lost out to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal SFC in the Continental championship’s decider last November but the 48-year-old will stand down from his position after a disappointing 10th place finish in the 2020 J1 League standings.
