Kawasaki: Ulsan Hyundai staged a second-half comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Group F rivals Kawasaki Frontale in the 2018 AFC Champions League Matchday Six on Wednesday.
Ulsan had already sealed the runners-up spot in the group and denied Kawasaki Frontale a winning end to a campaign that sees them finish bottom of the group.
Kawasaki took the lead with an excellent move after just two minutes. Following a one-two, Manabu Saito dribbled into the box and saw his shot parried into the path of Yuto Suzuki, who fired home from 12 yards.
Another neat move from the hosts saw Suzuki force Jo So-huk to push wide his powerful shot from 18 yards.
Ulsan then narrowly avoided conceding a penalty when Kim Seong-ju brought down Tatsuya Hasegawa on the 18-yard line. Hokuto Shimoda curled the resulting free kick just wide.
In the 43rd minute, the home side extended their lead when Hasegawa picked up a pass on the edge of the box, before cutting inside and fired into the net via a deflection off Kim Su-an.
