Persepolis' Mehdi Abdi Qara wins Best Goal of 2020 AFC Champions League


Kuala Lumpur: Mehdi Abdi Qara's semi-final goal for Persepolis FC against Al Nassr has been voted by the fans as the Best Goal of the 2020 AFC Champions League.

Abdi Qara's 42nd minute header drew the Islamic Republic of Iran champions level against Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr, with the Tehran-based side going on to win the penalty shootout 5-3 to make their second AFC Champions League final in three years.

Abdi Qara garnered 31.61 percent of the votes with the second of his goals - against eventual champions Ulsan Hyundai FC in the final - finishing third in the poll with 17.26 percent. Al Nassr's Abdulrahman Al Obaid finished second, with his Matchday One goal against Qatar's Al Sadd receiving 22.48 percent of the votes.
