Melbourne: Carlos Salvachúa's Melbourne Victory sealed a 5-0 victory over Indonesia's Bali United in their 2020 AFC Champions League Preliminary Stage 2 tie at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Tuesday.

First-half strikes from Migjen Basha and Josh Hope gave the A-League club a 2-0 lead with Robbie Kruse, Ola Toivonen and Elvis Kamsoba completing the win in the second half.

Victory will now face 2018 champions Kashima Antlers of Japan in next week's Playoff with the winners to advance to Group E alongside China PR's Beijing FC, Thailand's Chiangrai United and another side from the qualifying rounds.

Victory took the lead in the 13th minute when Storm Roux beat his marker at the edge of the box and sent in a cross which found Kamsoba, who set it up nicely for Migjen Basha to find the top left corner of the net.

Bali almost hit back just before the half hour mark as Stefano Lilipaly sent a well-timed pass to Melvin Platje whose shot on the turn took a deflection before sailing over the bar.

Robbie Kruse forced a good save from Bali goalkeeper Wawan Hendrawan in the 33rd minute, while Paulo Sergio was denied a goal at the other end as his effort from above the box was saved by Victory custodian Lawrence Thomas.

Salvachúa’s side doubled their advantage four minutes later as Kruse set up George Hope for a simple tap-in from close range.

Victory tightened their grip nine minutes after the restart when Kamsoba and Anthony Lesiotis combined well to break down the Bali defence on the left before cutting it back for Kruse, who made no mistake from the near post.

Bali fell further behind when they failed to deal with a corner in the 81st minute with Brandon Lauton's effort hitting the crossbar before Toivonen volleyed home the rebound from the edge of the box and Kamsoba scored their fifth goal in the final minute of the game.
