Suwon: After the biggest win of Matchday One, Japan's Vissel Kobe travel to Suwon World Cup Stadium and a meeting on Wednesday with Suwon Samsung Bluewings of Korea Republic.

It was a dream debut for Vissel Kobe last week as an Andres Iniesta-inspired performance saw the J.League side enjoy a 5-1 victory over Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta'zim.

A trip to Suwon may prove a bigger test, however. The Korean side are two-time Continental champions, having won the Asian Club Championship back-to-back in 2000-01 and 2001-02, and were AFC Champions League semi-finalists as recently as 2018.

Iniesta's contribution to Vissel's opening day victory was well publicised but Keijiro Ogawa's clinical finishing saw him score three of the side's five goals. Indeed, the 27-year-old became the first Japanese player to score a hat-trick in the AFC Champions League since Shoki Hirai for Gamba Osaka against Singapore Armed Forces in 2010.

Kyogo Furuhashi was also on target with a splendid effort from just outside the area, while Brazilian striker Dougla, too, found the net suggesting Vissel have goals throughout the side.

For Suwon, meanwhile, it's fairly straightforward where their threat resides: the boots of 2019 K League 1 Top Scorer Adam Taggart. The Australian scored 20 goals in 33 games to become the first attacker from his country to earn the Korean Golden Boot.

Veteran midfielder Yeom Ki-hun remains at the club and he has shown that age has dimmed neither footballing brain nor the technical brilliance of his left foot, while Korea Republic full-back Hong Chul is another long-standing and important member of the Suwon side.

Suwon will hope that they will be able to burst the bubble of their visitors, while also ending their own recent poor form on the Continent. The Bluewings have failed to win in their last three games in the AFC Champions League – their longest winless run since 2016.
