ACL2020 MD3 (WEST) Toyota Player of the Week: Abderrazak Hamdallah


Doha: Abderrazak Hamdallah from Al Nassr has been named the Toyota Player of the Week for Matchday 3 of the 2020 AFC Champions League (West).

Hamdallah netted both goals in the Saudi side's 2-0 win over Sepahan on Tuesday. The Moroccan is now top scorer in the tournament with four goals from three matches.

Hamdallah scored his double from two shots on target and also showed his all-round game with an impressive passing accuracy of 90.5%. The 29-year-old has now scored in seven consecutive appearances in the AFC Champions League and earned an OPTA rating of 8.7.

Santi Cazorla (below) also shone this week with the Al Sadd star scoring on his debut, with his very first shot on target, to give the Qatari hosts a share of the spoils in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Al Ain

The former Arsenal and Villareal man had 98 touches, created three chances and won six fouls in an impressive bow on the Asian stage. In addition, Cazorla had a passing accuracy of 87%, a dribbles completed rate of 100% and won 11 duels to earn an OPTA rating of 8.6

Al Nassr goalkeeper Brad Jones (below) also shone against Sepahan, making six saves at a save percentage of 78.5% that contributed to his side's first cleansheet of the 2020 edition. The 'keeper earned an OPTA rating of 8.4 for his efforts.

Al Duhail's Ramin Rezaeian (below) made a stunning Continental debut for the Qatari side. The Islamic Republic of Iran player had a passing accuracy of 88.6%, created three chances and, vitally, scored a superb free-kick to ensure Qatar's champions marked the tournament's resumption with three points in a 2-1 win over Sharjah.

Al Sadd midfielder Nam Tae-hee, who registered a 7.9 after he claimed two assists in the 3-3 draw with Al Ain, also had a good Matchday Three. Also on 7.9 is Al Ain striker Kodjo Laba, who was on target for the Emiratis in the same match.

Al Hilal forward Sebastian Giovinco and Al Ain's Bauyrzhan Islamkhan had rankings of 7.7. and 7.6 ratings respectively.

In a change from the past, Asian football fans were asked to choose their Player of the Week from Matchday Three based on the nominees provided by the AFC's official data provider OPTA.
