Doha: Suwon Samsung Bluewings' Park Sang-hyeok has been voted by the fans as the 2020 AFC Champions League (East) Toyota Player of the Week after he scored his side's goal in the 1-1 quarter-final draw with Vissel Kobe before the K League 1 team exited on penalties.
The 22-year-old midfielder, who opened the scoring with a nicely placed header in the seventh minute, gained 42 percent of the fans' vote after having been ranked sixth in the ratings by Stats Perform ratings – the AFC's official data provider – with a score of 7.1.
Having made a joint tournament-leading eight saves in Ulsan Hyundai's 2-0 win over Beijing FC, goalkeeper Jo So-huk (above) had topped Stats Perform's rankings with an 8.5 rating as his side advanced to the semi-finals for the first time since 2012.
The 33-year-old was at his best throughout, tipping a powerful Jonathan Viera effort from distance over the bar in the first half and denying A Lan with his feet after the interval to secure his third clean sheet at the 2020 AFC Champions League.
Rated second in Stats Perform's rankings, although also with an 8.5 rating, was Jo's Brazilian teammate Junior Negrao (above), who netted both of his side's goals in the victory over the Chinese Super League club.
The prolific marksman opened the scoring from the spot and powered home a stunning strike from 30 yards out to double the lead. Negrao had five shots on goal, three of which were on target, as he netted his third and fourth of the 2020 tournament.
With a score of 8.0, Beijing's Jonathan Viera (below) came in next in the rankings, with the Spaniard in the thick of the action throughout, creating four chances for his teammates and having six shots on goal.
The 31-year-old posted more touches (115) and more successful passes (79) than anyone else on the pitch as he continued his fine form in the competition; however, he was unable help Beijing reach the semi-finals for the first time in their history.
Viera's teammate Li Lei (below) was rated fourth in Stats Perform's rankings with the left-back gaining a score of 7.3 in a game that saw him create two chances as well as win possession back eight times.
Completing the top five was Suwon Samsung Bluewings defender Min Sang-gi who made five clearances, won seven duels and created two chances to earn a 7.2 rating, while fans' pick Park Sang-hyeok came next with a score of 7.1.
The Toyota Player of the Week top eight was rounded off by Vissel goalkeeper Daiya Maekawa, whose performance was also rated at 7.1, and Beijing defender Yu Yang on 7.0.
