AFC Champions League MD4 (WEST) Toyota Player of the Week: Khaled Bawazir

Doha: Sharjah's Khaled Bawazir has been voted by the fans as the AFC Champions League Matchday Four Toyota Player of the Week. In data provided by OPTA, the official data provider for the Asian Football Confederation, Bawazir had earned a rating of 7.6 for his performance against Al Duhail in Group C, with the midfielder scoring once in the 4-2 win.

In a change from the past, Asian football fans were asked to choose their Player of the Week based on the nominees provided by OPTA.

Al Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah, who scored a brace, registered one assist and created three chances an OPTA rating of 8.8 for his performance in the 4-0 win over Al Ain.

Brad Jones (below) was one of the candidates for Toyota Player of the Week for Matchday Three and he's back in OPTA's top eight for Matchday Four after another impressive performance in goal for Al Nassr.

The Australian custodian picked up a second consecutive cleansheet after Al Nassr defeated Sepahan 2-0 and was in stunning form as he made eight saves to earn an OPTA rating of 8.5.

Al Hilal's Amiri Kurdi (below, right), who is deputising at right-back due to the COVID-19 enforced absence of Mohamed Al Burayk, enjoyed a successful outing against Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor on Matchday Four to make OPTA's top three.

The Saudi defender had a passing accuracy of 96.7%, created two chances and registered four interceptions as his team held the Uzbek champions to a goalless draw on Thursday and earned the 29-year-old an 8.4 rating.

The reigning AFC Player of the Year Akram Afif (below, left) was also on target in Al Sadd's big win over Al Ain and the Qatar forward's goal capped another stellar showing. Afif also created three chances for his teammates, made 33 passes and won five fouls for his 7.9 OPTA score.

Al Shorta's Mazin Fayyadh, who registered a 7.7, scored the winner in the Iraqi side's historic 2-1 triumph over Al Ahli Saudi FC, while left-back Hassan Kadesh shone for Al Taawoun despite their 1-0 defeat to Persepolis to pick up a 7.6 rating.

Al Duhail SC forward Almoez Ali was among the goals and earned a 7.6 rating to round out the eight nominees.
