AFC Champions League (EAST) Toyota Player of the Week: Li Shenglong
Doha: Li Shenglong has been voted by the fans as the 2020 AFC Champions League (East) Toyota Player of the Week after the forward netted a brace in Shanghai SIPG's 2-1 victory over Sydney FC.
Li, whose pair of headed goals helped the Chinese Super League side come from a goal down to claim all three points, was top of Stats Perform's ratings after he received an impressive 8.5 rating, and fans agreed he was the standout player as he gained 64 percent of the votes.
Li's two smartly taken headers came in the 63rd and 79th minutes, while he also featured from the bench in SIPG's 2-1 win over Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
Another two-goal hero, Yoon Bit-garam (below) was close behind Li in the Stats Perform rankings with an 8.4 rating after he marked his return to the Asian club stage following an eight-year absence with a pair of strikes against Shanghai Shenhua in Ulsan Hyundai's 3-1 win.
Shanghai Shenhua might have had an outing to forget against Ulsan, but their tournament opener against Perth Glory was a memorable outing for Peng Xinli(below), who scored the opener and then got the assist for Yu Hanchao's goal to double Shenhua's lead as the Chinese side claimed a 2-1 win against the A-League club.
Peng's performance earned him an 8.1 rating and a place in Stats Perform's top three for this week.
A third Chinese Super League based player, Fernando of Beijing FC, took fourth place in the rankings as the Brazilian put in an all-action performance in the capital city side's win over FC Seoul.
Not only did he find the target, but the midfielder was impressive across the board as he boasted a 93 percent passing accuracy, had 73 touches, made 61 passes and won three duels for his 7.9 rating.
Ulsan Hyundai defender Kim Kee-hee, who registered a 7.9, was effective at both ends of the pitch as he found the target against Shenhua, while goal-scoring centre-back Jonathan Aspropotamitis shone for Perth Glory despite their 2-1 defeat to Shenhua to pick up a 7.8 rating.
A pair of Chinese Super League forwards Yu Hanchao of Shenhua and A Lan were also among the goals and earned 7.7 and 7.6 ratings respectively to round out the eight nominees.
