Reviewing the performance of his side in the two matches against Al Jazeera, Marmar said the pressure in the first leg had been greater on his players.

“In the first leg, we didn’t have an aggressive performance as the players were cautious because we failed to get past this stage last year,” he explained. “Tonight, things were different and we showed our true quality.”

Marmar called for the Lebanon football fraternity to support Al Ahed’s bid to win the AFC Cup, saying: “It will be a big triumph for Lebanese football.

“We need the support of everyone in Lebanon as reaching the final is something big.

“We will now concentrate on this decisive match and all our preparations will focus on winning the title.”

He thanked the fans who turned out in big numbers to help Al Ahed steer past Al Jazeera at the Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium as they now await the winners of the Inter-Zone final between 4.25 SC of DPR Korea and Vietnam's Hanoi FC.
