Bracket Challenge – RO32: Bader Al Mutawa (Qadsia SC) v Manuchehr Dzhalilov (FC Istiklol)


Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Cup Bracket Challenge returns with a couple of first-time efforts that are sure to impress and we ask you, the fans, to decide which one deserves a place in the Round of 16. 

Today's offering features our first entrants from Kuwait and Tajikistan as West Asia meets Central Asia with a place in the next round on offer for the winner.

A champions in 2014 with Qadsia SC, Bader Al Mutawa has netted a number of world class goals in the AFC Cup over the years and the Kuwait international goes up against FC Istikol's Manuchehr Dhzalilov, a two-time runner-up and the 2017 MVP.

The first leg of the 2014 semi-final showcased some superb goals as eventual champions Qadsia SC defeated Persipura Jayapura 4-2 and, with the score at 2-2, Bader Al Mutawa produced a moment of brilliance. Racing on to a bouncing ball over the top, the Qadsia legend connected first time to fire beyond the backtracking goalkeeper from a narrow angle with an effort that just oozed quality.

FC Istiklol vs Ceres Negros (22.08.2017)

Tajikistan international striker Manuchehr Dzhalilov was named the 2017 AFC Cup MVP and it is moments like this that help explain why. With his team two up against Ceres Negros in the Inter-Zone semi-final, Dzhalilov evades the defender's challenge before rocketing home an unstoppable effort that flew over the 'keeper's head for his first of two in a 4-0 win.
