With holders Air Force Club playing their home games back in Iraq in 2018, Mohammed Qasim gave fans at Karbala Sports City plenty to cheer about in the West Asia Zonal final against Al Jazeera. Shifting the ball onto his left foot 25 yards out, he delivers an excellent effort that evades goalkeeper Ahmed Abdel-Sattar to put his side 4-1 up on aggregate as they advanced to the final before sealing their third title in a row.

Defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim may have run out big winners in their opening game of the 2016 AFC Cup but Ayeyawady United's Thiha Zaw stunned the hosts early on. Cutting inside from the left, he finds his way past four defenders before unleashing an absolute rocket that gave JDT 'keeper Farizal Marlias no chance to draw the sides level at 1-1 in a game that ultimately ended in an 8-1 defeat.
