Hong Kong: Wofoo Tai Po came from behind to share the spoils with Kitchee SC following a 3-3 draw in Group I of their 2019 AFC Cup at the Mongkok Stadium on Wednesday.

Kitchee wasted no time in getting settled in as they asserted the early pressure against a Wofoo Tai Po side who won their previous encounter 4-2 on Matchday One.

Kitchee's aggression was rewarded handsomely when Ju Yingzhi was fouled just outside the area and Fernando cooly slotted home the free-kick in the sixth minute, sending his shot into the bottom left corner.

Kitchee kept the momentum going but faced resistance from Tai Po, who found the equaliser at the half hour mark.

The Hong Kong Premier League side forced their opponents into making an error as Dani Cancela put the ball into his own net to level the scores.

Four minutes later, Cheng Chin-Lung put Kitchee in front when he fired a left footed shot from close range to the centre of the goal following a corner.

Kitchee were almost caught napping in added time when Tai Po increased the intensity of their attacks, forcing a save from Kitchee goalkeeper Guo Jianqiao following an attempt from Chung Wai Keung’s right footed shot from outside the box. The visitors held on to their slim advantage at half-time.

Chi Kwong Chu’s men started the second half with a spark and went 3-1 ahead after eight minutes following excellent work from Ju Yingzhi who found Fernando lurking inside the box. The Brazilian didn’t disappoint as he fired a left footed shot past Tsang Man Fai.

With a two-goal cushion, Kitchee pushed forward in the hope of putting the game to bed as Fernando came close to scoring in the 52nd and 53rd minutes, calling Tsang Man Fai into action once again.

Tai Po, however, kept their composure and scored their second goal three minutes later when Chung Wai Keung sent Sandro a well-timed pass which the Brazilian tucked home.

With the clock winding down, Kitchee thought the three points were in the bag, but Tai Po had other ideas and after fruitless attempts on goal they finally landed the equaliser deep into added time when Chung Wai Keung sent a perfect delivery to Chiu Siu Wai who rose the highest to send his header to the top left corner.
