Kaya's Angeles delights in crucial point against PSM
Cibinong: Marwin Angeles, the hero for Kaya FC in their 1-1 draw with Indonesia’s PSM Makassar, has praised his side’s never-say-die attitude after he scored a dramatic stoppage time equaliser to keep the Filipino side top of Group H on Tuesday.
Kaya came into the 2019 AFC Cup match in Indonesia top of Group H on goal difference ahead of the Indonesians, so a win was crucial for either side as they both look to advance to the ASEAN Zonal Semi Finals.
Despite the home side dominating possession, and taking the lead early in the second half, Kaya never gave up and secured a vital point when Angeles was found unmarked in the box in the 93rd minute, controlling the ball on his chest and volleying home past Rivki Mokodompit.

“It was a really tough match for us,” said Angeles.“The team worked hard but we had a strong opponent, they were very strong.
“We knew that we were going to come to Indonesia (and face) a lot of pressure, especially playing away and we were lucky enough to get a goal and get one point here in Indonesia.
“It was crucial for us.”
While there was joy for Kaya, there was only despair for the home side who threw away a chance to go top of the group.
Eero Markkanen, the Finnish striker who won and converted a penalty for his side, was extremely disappointed at the result.
“We didn’t move the ball enough today, and didn’t create enough good chances," he said.
The two teams meet again in two weeks in Bacolod in what will be a crucial game in determining which team finishes top of the group.
